Though summer is in full swing, pre-fall styles and colors are already creeping into the mix. As you know, Birdie James favors a classic, monochromatic pallet. But, we do enjoy an accent from time to time, and that’s just what’s in store for us in FW 2017/2018! Here’s the lowdown:

Bold Colors:

In the red family, we’re seeing bright reds, tawny wine shades, and the continuation of soft pinks. Some are predicting red to be the “it color” this fall. Saffron yellow is also showing up in a big way. We’ve already been enjoying the pop of yellow this summer, and we expect for saffron to be a chic color to take us right on through to fall. And finally, navy continues to be the new black. It’s so chic, isn’t it?

Earth Tones:

Taupe, green, & maple shades have been spotted on the runway. These colors fall in line with the classic fall palate; soft, earthy colors that will look great in sweaters, jacket, scarves, and pants. These shades tend to be more versatile, and look so chic when styled monochromatically. Remember – being monochromatic doesn’t mean you have to literally wear only one color. Keep it tonal – try pairing taupe top with a winter white pant and keep the shoe light, too. Keeping the color going on your bottom half will also elongate you!

Cool Shades:

In terms of cooler colors, we’re seeing and soooo loving soft grey, silver, & pale blue. These amazing colors also offer you a beautiful palette to work in a tonal look. Classic and chic they are, quiet sophistication never goes out of style…
