Emotions have come and gone as ocean waves in the past few weeks. Some days I feel confident and optimistic; others I spontaneously burst into tears. And as I’ve connected with my girlfriends, I’m hearing that they’re feeling the same. The very thought of someone going through similar emotions during this time is validation for us; but, what’s really been neat about this is that we’re almost never going through the same emotions at the same time which means there have been amazing opportunities to support and to be supported. And there’s the silver lining…connection. Even if we are six feet away.

And that brings up another thought for me. Have you ever been in a relationship and felt distant or disconnected? I have, and it was miserable. So if we apply that to what’s happening right now, we can find the silver lining in social distancing. Just because we’re facing the challenge of standing six feet apart doesn’t mean that we have to feel disconnected. My hope is that this experience will connect us more. We’ll validate and be validated, we’ll experience and show empathy for others, and we’ll allow ourselves to be vulnerable and accept this is as a strength.

Thank you to our dear friends at Fresha London for sharing this on Instagram. Wishing for you to be able to find some time to enjoy yourself…

A few more images and quotes to boost the mind. I’ve begun starting my day with a few affirmations, which has helped me to be mindful of the things I do have and centers me to focus on the things that are most important. It’s times like these that we sorta reflect and think I may have lost sight of these things for a little while
