Our senses are extraordinary, and what a gift to be able to transport yourself through your sense of smell. One of my favorite scents has always been vanilla because it was my mother’s favorite. I have vivid memories of coming home from college for Christmas Break to a warm home that was cozied up by the the scent of vanilla. For me, it represents safety, home, love, connection, and laughter. Since my mother has passed, it’s shifted for me a bit. While many of the same feelings are connected, there’s now the added layer of loss. And since I lost my mother a year before opening our first Birdie location, it felt like it was time to put the vanilla on the shelf, honor the memories, and cultivate something new. It was time for me to find a scent to represent safety, love, connection, and laughter in my own home, for my family. And in Birdie James for our Birdie family…
Volcano, Aloha Orchid, and Blue Jean by Capri Blue have become our staple scents. Notes of tropical fruits and sugared citrus; orchid, jasmine, and gardenia; citrus, white musk, and patchouli. Our client {and Birdie} favorite is Aloha Orchid, and our favorite {at home} scent is Volcano. As the smells fill the air, we are connecting, we are loving and laughing, we are home.
